I am showing a new series of works that follow the ship in time and space. Fragmented vessel forms of solid porcelain/stoneware, sometimes mounted between glass columns.

I have been thinking about a history of mistakes. I slipped into a new space – from trying to copy the work I loved so much to imagining it and all the beauty and flaws of clay, water and fire – rather than imitating it – working to re-represent it.

In my personal universe there is a space-time encapsulated in these simple clay forms – the ‘Jar and Bowl’ as archetypal forms, that goes far deeper than we can imagine. What a huge cultural shift it must have been when we started storing and sharing food in these simple forms.

Recently I got excited when I noticed the change in ship restoration. Instead of trying to fill in missing areas with Gibbs and ink, you can just leave it out and let your imagination fill in the area.

'The Immobile Time Traveler's Residence' is the title of one of the paintings exhibited here.
I work in my studio in Sweden in periods. During a walk I saw a large stone: a time traveler, arrived in Sweden about 10,000 years ago during the last ice age. In human time this feels like a limitless amount of time, especially if we could use it in future planning. Of course that is not possible. We do not know what the future will bring. But suppose it were possible, to make a plan for the next 10,000 years, what would we start with? What is important to us and to nature? We know that we thrive on diversity and connection. Does this also apply to nature?

Can it be that simple, that more diversity and connectivity in all of biodiversity should be the foundation for our 10,000-year plan?
